This position is suitable for babies who can sit without support (from around 6 months old).<\/p>\n

The first time you try this position, it’s a good idea to have someone with you to make sure your baby stays safe throughout. If you like, use a mirror so you can constantly check your baby’s position. Once you get used to this position, you’ll find it very comfortable and very easy!<\/p>\n

To carry your baby on your back, you need to start by first placing your baby in the “seated position”.<\/p>\n

1. With your baby sitting in front of you, support their weight with your hand and slowly turn them (sliding them) toward your side (turning the pouch along with them).<\/p>\n

2. Once they reach your side, above your hip, pass your hand over their head so that it comes to be in front of the baby. Then continue slowly turning them toward your back.<\/p>\n

3. Now your baby is sitting on your back! Make sure their legs are spread open and that their knees are higher than their bottom.<\/p>\n

CAUTION: To take your baby out of this position, first bring them to your side or in front of you (this time turning your pouch the other way around) and then take your baby out as usual! Never try to lower your baby down while they are on your back.<\/p>\n

Your baby’s posture in this position, just as in the front, should resemble a rider on a horse: with their legs spread open and their knees at least at the same height as their bottom!<\/p>\n
