Babywearing & Asteraki Slings in the press
For Jenny Balatsinou’s show, we spoke with the lovely, expecting Eliana Chryskopoulou about baby carriers and babywearing. With us was a mum with a newborn baby just 25 days old in an Asteraki mei tai and ring sling.
Asteraki Slings baby carriers and babywearing were featured on the Epsilon channel and the show Face to Face with Ms Fay Mavragani, on Friday, 6 December 2012. With us was a mum wearing her 30-day-old newborn in a ring sling carrier (and she also showed us the breastfeeding position that works for them).
On Monday, 30 September 2013, Stella Stamoulaki and the Asterakia, along with two wonderful mums with their babies in baby carriers, were guests on eXceL!ent, Christina Lampiri’s show on SKAI television. Calm and happy in their mums’ arms, the babies and the Asterakia stole the show.
The Asterakia, together with a baby and its wonderful mum, visited “Koritsia stin Priza” on the Zoom channel, on Thursday, 25 July 2013. We talked about placing a baby in a sling, saw why babies feel so comfortable in baby carriers, and discussed what a mum can do while wearing her baby!
On Sunday, 7 July 2013, while we were at the European Babywearing Conference, Asteraki slings and babywearing.gr were featured with a video on the show “Me tin Dessy” on the Extra channel. Dessy Kouvelogianni’s team came to the “where the Asterakia are” training/demonstration space, and we talked in general about baby carriers, about comfort and safety, and about how babywearing can help new parents with their baby.
On web television, from mesofia.gr and Sofia Stamou, on the show “Caring for my baby «with Sofia»” — a feature on baby carriers and babywearing.
A precious aid for breastfeeding! “I wouldn’t have managed to breastfeed for so long if I hadn’t used a sling,” mums say in the mini feature that Talk magazine did on breastfeeding and babywearing, in its 2nd issue!
“Do it like Sakis R!” is the title of the report about babywearing, our team, and the Greek and foreign celebrity dads and mums who wear their babies in a carrier — from Sakis Rouvas to Brad Pitt.
“Freedom for you and joy for your baby”! “Wear your babies!” in the full-page feature on babywearing, in “Eikones” magazine of the newspaper “To Ethnos tis Kyriakis”, with an extensive account of the benefits for babies and parents as well as the various types of baby carriers!
It’s hot! A beautiful Asteraki sling (cotton with an ecru trim) was chosen by Marie Claire to be featured in the PAIDI insert as a hot accessory!
The “it” accessory! Madame Figaro magazine picked a double silk Asteraki sling and featured it in the PAIDI column as “every mum’s new it accessory”!
The first to lead the way! And yet, Sakis Rouvas was not the “first to lead the way”! Thanasis Efthimiadis and the (gorgeous) Anna Dimitrievic left the maternity hospital with their newborn baby in an Asteraki Sling, in July 2008!
“Etsi apla” magazine featured babywearing along with our team’s then-planned meet-up, in the “What’s on” column with “activities for fun and knowledge”.
The little black sling! Famous Hollywood dads and mums in the article published in the PAIDI insert of Marie Claire, which mentions babywearing.gr and encourages “our bold local mums” to wear their baby!
They make parents’ lives easier! Photos of babies in Asteraki Slings baby carriers, plus interviews with members of our team, in a full-page feature on babywearing, in the newspaper TA NEA! Along with our instructions for making your own carriers!

On Alpha television, a mum breastfeeds her three-month-old baby inside an Asteraki sling baby carrier, in a feature on breastfeeding.

Mega Channel, “Koinonia Ora Mega” — 26/02/2008: On Mega Channel’s morning show “Koinonia Ora Mega” we appeared live with members of our team and our babies, and talked about babywearing and baby carriers. Aiming to inform people and spread babywearing, we showed how you can wear your baby with a pareo, a scarf, wraps and other simple everyday items — and our babies stole the show, calm and happy, in a feature that lasted quite a while. Baby carriers have been mentioned many more times on television, in shows across all channels, on “proino mou” on Mega, on “Kafes me tin Eleni” on Alpha, as well as in news bulletins. Even when the presentation isn’t done in the best way, the essence remains that babywearing helps parents a great deal in their daily lives and it’s good for it to become known.
