Breastfeeding (and bottle-feeding) in a baby carrier

Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding — in a baby carrier a mum has her hands free! Discreetly, comfortably and wherever she happens to be, she can feed her baby and carry on with her day at the same time.

From articles on the Babywearing blog (17/02/2010 & 06/06/2009)

When a mum feeds her baby — whether breastfeeding or giving a bottle — she’d surely appreciate a couple of extra hands! A baby carrier does exactly that: it frees her hands.

Feeding moments

The mum in the photo is feeding her baby and can stand up, walk, drink a glass of water! One hand holds the bottle — the other is free.

My newborn and I are eating together! Rea nurses in a ring sling — but she isn’t the only one who needs food.

My little girl, a few weeks old, nurses in a mei tai in an upright position — ideal for babies with reflux.

Caught in the act! Last Easter, my 17-month-old daughter and I “slipped away” and dozed off on the sofa. At least I didn’t have to worry about her falling!

Beautiful — mother and daughter in moments of happiness, the baby nursing in a mei tai.

Right after the christening, I needed to comfort my baby by nursing in the ring sling. Discreetly and comfortably, breastfeeding in public is easy!

A video I adore

A dad, a mum and little Stellitsa (5 months old) went shopping in a big store in Thessaloniki; the baby got hungry and mum fed her with ease. The look of contentment in the little one’s eyes as she nurses is incredible!

Beautiful moments, full of love and tenderness! Happy babywearing!

Many thanks to the lovely mums who allowed me to use their photos, in the sacred moment of feeding their babies.
