Blogging about Babywearing Your own story
Write us a short text (about 200 words) about your relationship with babywearing, why you fell in love with it, or how you first came across it, or a funny story related to wearing your baby. Pick one of your babywearing photos that you like and send them to us by email at asteraki@babywearing.gr.
All the stories will be entered into a draw with a Design Asteraki mei tai (worth 72 euros) as the prize. Three of the stories will be published on the babywearing blog. If your story is published, you will receive a gift voucher worth 25 euros to redeem or to give as a gift!
Entries will be accepted until Wednesday 10/10 and are considered valid only if they are accompanied by at least one photo depicting safe babywearing. The draw will take place after the end of International Babywearing Week and the winners will be notified by email.

Monday to Friday: Star Quiz How well do you know babywearing?
During Babywearing Week 2012, from Monday to Friday, a daily quiz question about babywearing trivia will be posted on our page on facebook. (E.g. What is the medically recommended position for newborns? From what age is it allowed to wear your baby on your back? Etc.).
You can take part with your answer every day (once a day). The winner of each day will be selected by a draw among the correct answers and will win a gift voucher of 25 euros.
To take part you must: 1) send us the answer to the question of the day by message via facebook (message to Asteraki Slings – Babywearing) and 2) write a comment under the photo with the question “I’m taking part in the Babywearing Star Quiz too!”. For your entry to be valid, both of the above actions must have been done and the answer to the question of the day must be correct.

SATURDAY, 13 October 2012, at 10:30 am Visit to the Angeliki Hatzimichali Centre of Folk Art and Tradition – Outdoor meeting at the National Garden
This year’s theme for the celebration of International Babywearing Week has to do with traditions. What is more representative of Greek tradition than the house of Angeliki Hatzimichali in Plaka!
On a short visit to its wonderful spaces, we will see traditional weavings and embroidery, masterpieces of folk art and everyday objects of Greek tradition. In the heart of Plaka, in the soul of Greek tradition, together with our babies and with our eyes on the future! Admission to the museum is free.
After the visit to the museum (if it’s not raining), we will walk wearing our babies to the National Garden, where we will sit on the grass for a small, outdoor babywearing meeting, for company and a little chat!
Meeting at 10:30, outside the Centre of Folk Art and Tradition, at 6 Angeliki Hatzimichali Street, in Plaka.
Sunday, 14 October 2001, 11:00 – 13:00 Carrying on Traditions
Do we carry our babies “traditionally”, or is babywearing “new”, exotic, alternative? Is it a foreign trend, or perhaps part of Greek tradition (too)? How is it that baby strollers, baby seats and bouncers are more familiar to young parents? Whatever your opinion is, whether you know babywearing or not, here is a lovely opportunity to exchange views, with parents just like you!
The meeting will be hosted by the Protovadismata nursery, 3-5 Patron, Kolonos (near Larissa Station).

Carrying on Traditions
The non-profit association “Serraies Manoules“, with the aim of developing activities for mother and child, is taking part with a meeting dedicated to babywearing and baby carriers, in Serres.
The meeting takes place as part of the celebration of International Babywearing Week 2012, in collaboration with the babywearing.gr team, which is the official Greek participation as the Official Celebrating Organization.
