How to adjust your sling correctly
Your sling is especially versatile! It can be adjusted exactly to your size and hug your baby as tightly as you want!
You can wear your sling “open” in front of you so that your baby goes in with their legs out, or wear it in a way that creates a “pocket” so that your baby goes in with their legs inside.
When you pull the outer side of the tail (the one that is close to your arm), the inner side of the pocket tightens (the one that rests against your chest). When you do this movement without weight (without the baby inside the sling) you may need to hold resistance on the rings so that they do not move.
When you pull the inner side of the tail (the one that is close to your chest) the outer side of the pocket tightens (the one that is far from your body).
If you want to tighten the inside of the pocket (to make the pocket shallower, or to bring the baby closer to your body), you can pull the tail from its center.
Correspondingly, when you do not have a pocket, the inner side of the tail tightens the upper edge of your sling (near the baby’s back and neck), while the outer side of the tail tightens the lower edge of your sling (behind the baby’s knees).
To “loosen” (enlarge) your sling (when for example you want to take your baby out), you simply lift the ring that is facing up and pull it outward. The baby’s weight will pull the sling downward.
Remember that the rings “lock” with the baby’s weight, so, every time you want to adjust your sling by pulling or loosening the tail, you should support your baby with your other hand.
You must always remember that it will be much easier to make the adjustments you want to your sling if the fabric is threaded correctly through the rings and is evenly spread out. Also, prefer to adjust your sling gradually (one side at a time), rather than pulling the whole tail down together. This way you will achieve greater precision and a perfect fit! For this reason, when you take your sling off it is better to “loosen” it only as much as is needed for your baby to come out comfortably, aiming for it to be roughly the right size when you put it on again.
When you want to “tighten” your sling, you should pull the tail up and out, with an almost circular movement. Do not pull downward (towards the floor), because this can result in the rings coming down lower on your chest. See in the video below how you should adjust the tail of your sling. You can right-click to save it to your computer and watch it from there, it will open much faster.
