How to prepare your Wrap for the front positions with a “pocket”

The instructions below describe the preparation you need to do with your Wrap before you put your baby in the positions that require your Wrap to form a pocket in front of you (such as the “Buddha” position, or the reclined position). Once you reach the final step, continue with the corresponding instructions for placing your baby.
1. Hold your Wrap in front of you, so that its center is in front of your chest.
2. Fold your Wrap in half by bringing the bottom part up.
3. So now you will have two “layers” in front of you (and the width of your Wrap will be halved). The opening will face up.
4. Lay your Wrap, folded as it is, in front of you, guiding each side down under your armpits.
5. Wrap one end around your back and over the opposite shoulder, bringing this end in front of you.
6. It is important that the fabric does not “twist” at any point.
7. Letting this end drop in front of you, take the other end and guide it under your armpit toward the back.
8. As before, wrap it around your back and bring it over your shoulder.
9. Let this end of the fabric drop in front of you as well.
10. The two sides will “cross” on your back, forming an X. Once again, make sure they have not “twisted” anywhere.
11. So now you will have a horizontal section in front of you and two ends hanging vertically from your shoulders.
12. The horizontal section in front of your chest opens from the top, forming a pocket. You will place your baby in this pocket.
13. See how you can adjust this pocket however you like: When you pull the inner side of the end hanging from your right shoulder, you tighten the inner side of the pocket under your left armpit.
14. Likewise, when you pull the inner side of the end hanging from your left shoulder, you tighten the inner side of the pocket under your right armpit.
15. You can do the same with the outer side of the pocket. It tightens if you pull the outer (upper) sides of each end.
16. This way you can make the pocket as large or as small as you like.
