Method “the Santa Claus”
An easy method, especially handy if you are going to wear your child “high on your back” or with a scarf.
Note: In the photos below I am already 6.5 months pregnant and my Vasilis weighs 15 kilos!
1. Wrap the Wrap or the scarf (or even the top part of the Mei Tai) that you are going to use around your baby’s back and under their arms.
2. Hold the fabric tightly in front of the baby’s chest with one hand. The fabric should be right under their armpits and there should be no gap in front of their chest.
3. “Swing” your baby together with the fabric onto your back, just as Santa Claus would sling his sack over his shoulder! Your baby will be on your back and the tails of the fabric will hang in front of you.
4. Grab one tail of the fabric (or one strap of the Mei Tai) together with one of your child’s little hands and bring it around your neck so that your baby “hugs” you.
5. From here you can continue with the babywearing method you have chosen.
The same instructions are also available in the video below:

Note: The above is a way for the baby to “reach” your back. To wear them in a baby carrier or with a simple piece of fabric (and to keep your hands free), you will find the relevant instructions for back positions on the following pages:

Instructions with mei tai
Instructions with a sarong, scarf, or whatever else you have to “improvise”
