The babywearing.gr team, which this year too is the official Greek participation in the celebration of International Babywearing Week, is delighted to present to you the programme of events concerning the wonderful art of «wearing our baby»:
MONDAY, 10 October 2011 Make your own carrier
Whether you sew or use a simple bed sheet or a tablecloth, you can have your own front carrier and wear your baby comfortably and in the most economical way!
We suggested: Make your own carrier and send us photos of your creation! One of them won, after a draw, a unique Asteraki mei tai!

TUESDAY, 11 October 2011 Meet a babywearer!
Find another mum or another dad who uses a front carrier and go out for a walk together!
Whether you already know each other, have only met “online”, or arrange it on the occasion of International Babywearing Week, it’s wonderful to meet parents who wear their babies!
We suggested: Babywearers, gather round! Take a photo together and send us your photos! One of them won a gift voucher worth 25 euros for each of those pictured.

WEDNESDAY, 12 October 2011 Get to know babywearing – Thessaloniki!
An introduction to front carriers and to babywearing. The benefits of babywearing, the features of front carriers and what makes them unique! The advantages and disadvantages of each type, help and support for parents who wear their babies!
The babywearing team met this time in Thessaloniki! You had been asking us for a meeting in Northern Greece and IBW2011 was the best opportunity to make it happen! The meeting was introductory, an introduction to babywearing and the various types of front carriers! (Of course it had all the characteristics of our team’s meetings: it was held on a voluntary basis, without any advertising or product promotion, with no participation cost, in a neutral space where no sales take place!).
The meeting was hosted in its beautiful premises by the model nursery “Margarita”, which has been operating since 1994 in Nea Krini, Kalamaria (in front of Manos Katrakis park). Tiverioupoleos 3 – N. Krini, tel. 2310458110.

THURSDAY, 13 October 2011 Raising little babywearers! If your child takes care of their favourite doll or their plush animal as if it were «their baby», then they surely hold it in their arms!
We suggested: Send us a photo of your little babywearer wearing their dolly (whether with a children’s carrier, with your own front carrier, or with a wrap or another improvised “carrier”).
One of the photos won, after a draw, an Asteraki dolly mei tai (for a doll)!

SATURDAY, 15 October 2011 Babywearing for everyone!
It’s not only mums who wear their baby! Dads, grandpas, grandmas, nannies, or older siblings, the time has come to dedicate a day of celebration to you! When someone other than mum takes care of the baby, the baby feels more at home in the carrier with her scent and settles more easily away from her.
We suggested: Send us a photo of your baby in a front carrier where the babywearer is someone else – other than mum! One of them won, after a draw, an Asteraki mei tai!

SUNDAY, 16 October 2011 Together with our carriers – Music and Movement
For babies 5 months -12 months and daring parents. We invited you to wear your babies in front carriers, comfortable clothes and little socks, and you came to enjoy another activity that babywearing makes easier!
The programme was coordinated and presented by Fratzeska Theodoroulaki in the beautiful space of Mousikokinitiki (Music and Movement), Gounari 39 & Athanatou 1, Ano Glyfada, 2109613400.
