How to wear your pouch if it is a little too big (“inside out”)
With the following method, you can make your pouch slightly “smaller”. Use it if you feel that your pouch is a little too big for you or if you feel the baby is too “far away” from you.
1. Normally you would wear your pouch with the opening facing up.
2. But now you will wear your pouch inside out! You will pass it over your head again diagonally, with the seam in front of you, but this time the opening will be facing down!
3. It will of course also be reversed on your shoulder: the “folded” part will be close to your neck, while the “opening” will be on the outside, towards your arm.
4. Leaving your pouch like this where it rests on your shoulder, you will grab the seam in front of you and “flip over” the bottom part (in front of your belly).
5. So now the bottom part will have turned so that the opening is once again facing up!
6. From here on you can put your baby into the pouch as usual (following the instructions for the seated position).
7. Your baby will sit normally in the “little pocket” of your pouch, which opens upwards. As this pocket became narrower with this “trick”, you will definitely feel the baby more “snugly” against you and you will feel greater security if the size of your pouch had until now been slightly larger than it should have been!
8. Under your shoulder, the “fold” from the “flip over” you did in step 4 will of course remain! And if you feel it is needed, you can “move” it closer to your shoulder (for a bigger “pocket”) or closer to your baby (for a smaller “pocket”)!
