Trick: shoulder flip
If you want to “narrow” the outer side of your pouch (and thus bring your baby closer to your body), you can fold the top part of the pouch outwards over your shoulder (so that its inner side shows). This way you will feel much more comfortable, as your baby will come closer to you and you will feel it more secure.
In the “lying down” position or when breastfeeding, with the baby’s head on the low side of the pouch (the opposite one from the side covering your shoulder), the “shoulder flip” helps to raise the baby’s little head a bit higher if you need it.
1. Start with the pouch folded normally over your shoulder.
2. Fold the top part of the fabric outwards.
3. Place your palm underneath this new fold and push it towards your neck.
4. Now the outer side of your pouch will be quite a bit narrower, so that the baby is close to your body.
